Challenges with Multi-Monitor Setup on Windows 11: Display and Performance Issues

Post by earthworm » Tue Nov 04, 2025 11:42 am

Hello everyone,

I recently upgraded to a multi-monitor setup using Windows 11, combining a primary 27” 4K display with a secondary 24” Full HD monitor. While the setup works in general, I’ve been facing several issues that are affecting both productivity and system performance:

Resolution scaling conflicts: Text and icons appear differently on each monitor, and some applications do not scale properly when dragged between screens.

GPU performance drops: Running multiple applications across both monitors causes occasional stuttering and screen tearing.

Window snapping inconsistencies: The Windows snap feature works inconsistently, especially with apps that have custom UI layouts.

I have tried updating GPU drivers, adjusting display settings, and resetting the scaling options, but the problems persist.

Has anyone here experienced similar multi-monitor issues on Windows 11? What solutions or workarounds have you found effective to maintain smooth performance and proper scaling across different screen sizes?

I’d really appreciate any advice, tips, or configuration examples that could help optimize a mixed-resolution setup.

Thanks in advance for your help!
