Issue with Windows 25H2 and Netflix (Chrome)

Post by zaphodalive » Mon Nov 03, 2025 12:07 am

Heya

I updated 3 pieces of software on October 31st and in the process Netflix stopped showing video in Chrome - the menu was normal, but when actually playing a video it displayed as only white (though the OSD text and controls were visible).

I went through a series of tests and believe this is a compatibility issue between Aster and Windows 25H2.

Setup:
Windows 11
Geforce RTX 4070 Super
Netflix through Chrome browser

Software updates:
Windows 11 24H2 -> 25H2
Geforce driver 576.88 -> 581.57
Aster 2.60.5 -> 2.70.2

Test:
1) Disable Aster.
- Issue resolved, Netflix displayed videos correctly.
2) Revert Geforce driver to 576.88, and re-enable Aster.
- Issue reoccurred. Netflix videos white.
3) Revert Aster to 2.60.5.
- Won't enable, incompatible Windows version.
4) Revert Windows to 24H2, re-enable Aster.
- Issue resolved, Netflix displayed videos correctly.
5) Update Aster to 2.70.2 again.
- Issue still resolved.
6) Disable Aster, update Geforce driver to 581.57 again, then re-enable Aster.
- Issue still resolved.

This leads to me believe that the combination of Aster 2.70.2 and Windows 25H2 are causing the issue, perhaps making Netflix DRM kick in somehow? Every combination of software with Windows 24H2 did not present this issue.
