Help please splitting 1 monitor into 2
Help please splitting 1 monitor into 2
i have an ultrawide monitor and i want to split it into two parts each one being controlled by it own mouse and keyboard but aster won't let me turn on place 2 without a second monitor i tried a lot of other software but same issues thank u in advance
Re: Help please splitting 1 monitor into 2
From my understanding of Aster this is not possible - every hardware/device you assign to an output.
Though not very clear what you are looking for -sounds like you are looking for something akin to a two player setup on the same screen and that is not what Aster is designed for

Most ultra widescreens I've seen have two video inputs so they operate as a multi-monitor setup. If your computer has two video outputs you should be able to use this in the way you want I think.

Here’s a quick thought: if you want two separate workspaces from one ultrawide, you might explore window managers or split-screen utilities that can simulate independent desktops, but many apps still rely on a primary monitor. If you’re stuck, it might be worth trying a hardware KVM switch to physically separate inputs, or using virtualization to give each side its own input. Either way, you can “kick the buddy” by taking a step-by-step approach and testing each option.

Try buying an HDMI monitor emulator and plugging it in; that should trick the software right away.

I think Aster treats each workplace as needing a separate display output, even on ultrawide monitors. You could try creating a virtual second monitor using software like Dummy Display or an HDMI dummy plug. Some users reported that workaround actually works pretty well.
