Monitors do not sleep with splitter configuration

Post by BeerNecessities » Wed Nov 21, 2018 11:55 am

I have used aster before with gtx 1050ti and usb 3 display card and it sleeped perfect with 2 stations. Today I got rid of the usb 3 display and one monitor. I put a 4k splitter on the 4k monitor on tv. Display port through to VGA adapter and to 1080p display. It works great except the both stations just blink a couple of times when trying to sleep. The monitors sleep when aster is disabled. Is this a known issue with splitters and one graphics card?

I also noticed in NVIDIIA control panel and windows display settings that both monitors are cloned. When I try to extend displays it just reverts back to cloned. The two stations work great but do not sleep. One station monitor briefly goes off for a second randomly.

Still have the above problems 3 months later. I just updated aster from v2.22 to v2.24. I also updated NVIDIA drivers. 4K screen still blinks randomly and does not go to sleep. Please respond.

Try with Screensaver option disable in the Personalisation settings page in Windows.

I think that did it. I set it to none.
Edit: Problem still persists. I had the cables mixed up.

Still does the same thing. Blinks a couple of times. Neither station sleeps.

Found out that I can use the onboard graphics at the same time as my graphics card. Retired the splitter now although not as good. Maybe a soultion for others?

:D Interesting! I just installed the latest version of aster and tried the aster screen saver - power saver. I noticed it turns the monitors off. I will check this with splitter at a later time. Will share my findings when I do.

Edit: Main monitor does not power off when hooked up to Rocket Fish Splitter 4K. I also have TV and small touchscreen extended on the desktop. The screens do go black but not off. :(

I have just hooked the splitter up again and can confirm that all works well now. I am using power settings to turn off monitors.
