ASTER v2 workplace audio device changes after reconnecting USB headset
I am using ASTER v2 with multiple workplaces on Windows 11 and I noticed an audio routing issue when reconnecting USB devices.
My setup:
Windows 11 Pro 24H2
ASTER v2 latest version
2 workplaces running simultaneously
USB headset and USB speakers assigned to different users
The issue happens when one user disconnects and reconnects a USB audio device. After reconnecting, Windows sometimes assigns the headset to the wrong workplace, causing the second user to lose audio or receive sound from another session.
I have tried:
Setting default playback devices manually for each user
Reinstalling USB audio drivers
Changing USB ports
Restarting the ASTER service
The problem does not happen every time, but it appears after several reconnect cycles. A complete Windows restart fixes it temporarily.
Has anyone found a reliable way to lock specific USB audio devices to individual ASTER workplaces? I am interested in learning how other multi-user setups handle device assignment stability.
